Does ZSNES give you an error message or just doesn't start?

I wait about 30seconds before i lose patience and close it.
It does'nt do anything, Task manager lists it as not-responding.

I run Windows XP.
I just tried Zsnes 1.41 and 1.31b with same results.

Unfortunately, it starts to sound like the problem is in your computer...

What DirectX version are you using? Make/model of the video card?

Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) XP 3000+, ~2.2GHz
Memory: 1024MB RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)
Card name: RADEON 9600 XT

Hmm on inspection of my DXDiagnostic, i notice im using an Omega Driver
for my video card, are there any known issues Zsnes has with those driver types?

No, omega drivers work fine.

Try running the latest version, if you still have a dark screen, try deleting the generated configuration files, then run it again.

Omega 2.5.x is very old. You'd better upgrade.

Try using the latest WIP version.
Try out CCleaner and other free software at Piriform
