So I'm trying to connect with a friend of mine, and we're getting lots of fun problems.
The problem is one that I'm almost entirely sure is on his end. When we try to connect Netplay, different things happen depending on who attempts to host and which protocol we use. If I attempt to host UDP, it stalls forever at me waiting for him to connect and him waiting to connect. If I attempt to connect UDP, I stall, but he registers a 'client found'. If either of us host TCP and try to connect, we get a connect failed error.
Some technical stuff about both of our computers:
Me:
Windows XP pro, SP2
Windows firewall is off
Using Verizon DSL, no router
No other firewalls on computer
Able to connect with UDP to WinMX and have enabled Netplay with another friend
Using ZSNES 1.42
Him:
Windows 2000
No Windows Firewall on
Using AOL 56k, no router
Does not believe other firewalls to be present
Have tried to connect with previously mentioned friend, encountered same error as I encountered.
Using ZSNES 1.42
We've both also added port 7845 to the exclude list on both TCP and UDP for Windows Firewall, just in case.
What a surprise, more netplay connect issues.
