Question about Final Fantasy III. (ZSNES 1.42)
Randomly, my cursor disappears. I know that doesn't happen to a good dump of the game. I'm guessing it's the ROM, but it doesn't seem to happen in SNES9X, so I'm starting to think otherwise.
Any suggestions?

Stuff like this is always worth a try in the latest ZSNES WIP build. Try it with that and report back.

It didn't happen to my friend, so that's why I questioned it -- I know a bad checksum is never good.Deathlike2 wrote:I was thinking that the cursor "disappearing" was more to the fact that ZSNES hadn't implemented some feature..
Though in general case, a bad checksum ROM is still the factor...

No, doofuss. It's an emulation bug. RTO iirc.Ephemeral wrote:Yes! Is there a ROM that has this fixed?Clements wrote:Only happens when in battle with certain enemies.

Wow, it's necessary to call me a name because I was unaware of something.grinvader wrote:No, doofuss. It's an emulation bug. RTO iirc.Ephemeral wrote:Yes! Is there a ROM that has this fixed?Clements wrote:Only happens when in battle with certain enemies.
Thank you (and you Agozer) for telling me it has to do with emulation. I thought it might have been my ROM, since others said so (and didn't mention anything about it being an emulator issue).

I'm not a "politically correct" guy, and 'doofuss' is not high on my offense scale. "Dumbass" is above, for example.Ephemeral wrote:Wow, it's necessary to call me a name because I was unaware of something.
The FF3/6 trouble is old especially since a lot of people play this game and have reported it before you. But, the first thing we ask of users is to use good dumps, because it slowly works towards getting rid of bad ones (once we kill CrapSNES, of course) - and bugs obtained using bad dumps aren't even looked at, since the ROM is faulty to begin with.
Now you'll still have the bug, but at least your ROM will be clean ! Feel the improvement !

All is good. Yeah, I have good dump of the game. Not sure how I acquired that other; it's the first bad checksum ROM I've ever had. I wish I owned it -- it's certainly worth it.grinvader wrote:I'm not a "politically correct" guy, and 'doofuss' is not high on my offense scale.
