Help, Please

Hello all! I was playing chrono trigger on my zsnes. I just resurrected chrono and talked to him at the end of time when suddenly my screen went black; i pressed f2 and saved but my screen still reamins black; whats wrong? I also downloaded a save game file called chrono.srm but i have no idea how to use it; can someone please help?
