Problems using Netplay, any help would be appreciated.

Post by Rosey »

I've been trying to connect to Netplay with a friend and after "init client", it doesn't do anything. We've tried version 1.42 and 1.36 (I was told 1.36 is better for Netplay). We've also tried ZBattle. We don't have routers, I've tried with both UDP and TCP, nothing works. I've read a huge amount of posts and the read-me files and I haven't been able to find an answer. Any more information that you may need from me in order to try to help me, please let me know. Thank you.

What's the specs for both computers ? What's the internet connection for your computers (I'll assume dialup, since you don't use routers) ?

give us a few more details, kthx
<Nach> so why don't the two of you get your own room and leave us alone with this stupidity of yours?

If you two are using broadband, chances are is that you have routers. Check the docs for both routers and read the port forarding sticky.

I called my ISP and the agent walked me through it. Fortunately, he knew about and uses Zsnes. We can only play TCP though but I guess it's better than nothing. Thank you both for your help :).
