Video suggestion

Post by Holonet »

No complaints here, just a suggestion, that I have no problem going without... Many video cards, my own included (Radeon 9550) have a theater mode for exporting the image to a TV...such that if a video is played, it will appear in full screen mode on the TV, even if the video player is minimized. ZSNES works fine in this fashion, but if you minimize it, it pops off the TV screen as well. I think it would be handy to have an option to cater to this theater mode, so it will appear on the video out device full screen even if it's minimized... That way, the computer can use all that fancy hardware and keep track of other things one is doing on it without halting the gameplay.

Anyhoo, I haven't spent enough time locked in my room yet to know how feasible this is, and the program is excellent regardless. Hopefully I'm not repeating anyone...I did skim through  Keep up the good work anyway...

It seems to me like that wouldn't work very well for ZSNES, since you would lose focus to the program when you minimize it. It works for video players because most don't require interaction while they are playing videos, only before and after.

He's right. To expand upon that, if you have a dual montior setup as well, its impossible to do anything while zsnes is in focus. And zsnes needs to be in focus for the sake of input (even if youre only using a gamepad with it).

Ah..blah, yes, I didn't think of that  . And yeah, that is why I didn't... I do use a gamepad, so I wasn't thinking about focus since I don't use it for other things concurrently, obviously. Too bad the interrupt principle won't work here... Oh well, maybe some other operating system 8)
