Zelda 3 Theme Recreated in Mario Paint (video + mp3)

Post by Kethinov »

Hi all.

Many, many years ago when I owned my physical copy of Mario Paint, I created the original Zelda 3 Mario Paint remake which has since loosely floated around the internet.

Never before have I had such a convenient way to distribute this cool creation! Major props go to Nach any anyone and everyone else involved in ZSNES and the ZMV to AVI conversion guide. I especially love that it is so Linux friendly. :)

You can download the video of my Zelda 3 Mario Paint song or just the mp3 here! http://eric.halo43.com/zelda3.php

Enjoy. Isn't this wonderfully nerdy? :D

Nice song indeed.

When I had Mario Paint on my SNES all I did was piss around with the really nifty animation feature. Put countless hours of time into it, even though my animations were pretty crap overall it was still alot of fun.

I have the issue of Nintendo Power with the mario paint sheet music on how to create this. Also included is the theme of metroid and like 2 other games. I'll have to dig it up.

Nice work!

Hey good job, I'm impressed! Sounds really nice. I even downloaded the video just to see Mario jump about to the music. It was a bit distracting having the mouse pointer flitting around the screen, but that doesn't detract from the overall gooditude of the Zelda 3 Mario Paint music experience. ;)

Very nice. I'm glad you're able to make creative use of the ZMV to AVI feature :)

Linux friendly was the easy part, making it Windows friendly, somewhat idiot friendly, and working out all the details was the hard part.

Keep on making good stuff :)

Nice job! I'm going to recreate it!! Wonderful.

Can anybody link me to some other Mario Paint recreations? I see it mentioned that there are more, but I did a search and found nothing.

Also, does anybody have a link to a scanned copy of the old "Nintendo Power' magazine Mario Paint insert? It was Nintendo Power, right? I've been looking for that forever!!

I have it, but no access to a scanner. Maybe at work or something, I'll look into it.

I believe that was the '93 January issue. Subscribers used to get a "BONUS ISSUE" in January with all kinds of stuff that was missing from the newstand version.

I believe I tore that insert out of somebody else's magazine back when that issue came out. Funny thing is that I had my own magazine as well, maybe he didn't want it or something.

Who knows where it is now... Other than upstairs, somewhere.

Oh, '93 was an hawesome year for gaming.

hmmm, the video and audio are out of sync. Notes are not playing as mario stomps each column of notes. Still, great stuff. Thanks for sharing

Problem with your player/codecs.
