Issues with setting Left on gamepads.

Gamepad acting up? Keyboard not responding properly? Can't get that other user to work? Read and post about it here.

Issues with setting Left on gamepads.

Post by Andronico »

Greetings! Before I get to my main issue, I would like you all to know I've read through most of the threads here in search of any answer but have come up dry.

Recently, I've been having issues with setting Left on my gamepads. The two I use are Gravis GamePad Pro (basically looks like the old PSone controller) and Logitec Rumble Pad 2 (looks like a PS2 rumble controller). When I play with the keyboard, everything is just fine. So then I set all the keys for my gamepads and fire up a game and all the buttons work correctly but when I press Left, it does whatever the button set to B is supposed to do. Even when I set it to the analog joystick left, it does the same thing.

I have tried different ZSNES version, searched and installed controller drivers, and have calibrated it repeatedly via the Control Panel. I am using a Pentium 4, Windows XP 2.40 GHz with 1 gig of RAM so I don't think it has anything to do with my computer.

The gamepads work correctly on any other PC game that I own. Anything I might be missing to check on? I appreciate any help. :)

Does left act as b and b act as left? Or is it just the first one?

When I press Left on the control pad, I get the output for what B would regularly do. The rest of the buttons work accordingly without issue. The previous versions never gave me issue with gamepads. I forgot at which version did I have gamepad issues.

If you updated ZSNES recently, delete the .cfg+.dat files that ZSNES generates and see if that helps.
