I've known about this for a long time but I never really looked into it until now. The problem is that there seems to be 'offline srms' and 'online srms'. Completing and unlocking something that is saved to sram while you're offline doesn't come up online unless you've completed it online. I thought they seperate srm files or something but digging through the zsnes directory showed nothing that sticks out...just the plain ordinary srm file.
There's the local, remote and none options for save ram in the netplay window but they're set to the appropriate settings on startup.
I tried searching a bit and looking through the documentation but it mentions nothing about this.
I'm using zsnes 1.42 mainly for netplay and sometimes switching to 1.36. So what's the system zsnes uses for this / where's the mystery srm file?
Question about .srm files

Yeah, that usually happens to me. During the process of playing the same game both offline and online there is an srm file saved to your offline games and the other one which is online. Both two seprete entities woven into one game. As far as the mystery file, I'm not sure where that is. I'll tell you that I've played a game that was an SWC file instead of an SMC file and the file that I've had offline played online as well. So mabye there is a difference within playing the same file offline and both online with an SWC than with the SMC file.
You're probably using a different program to launch ZSNES (zbattle.net?). Because ZSNES is being executed from a different directory, it probably is not finding it's configuration files and is using a CFG and SRM files from the working directory of the launching application. Try searching your entire hard disk for *.SRM

I'm using zbattle to launch it, but if what you say is true shouldn't there be .srm, .cfg and .dat files in my zbattle directory? There's nothing there. It points to the same zsnes I use for offline and online play if that's anything.
After a few searches of my C drive there is only one .srm file for each game and that's in the main directory for zsnes. I don't see whats going on here...
