ok i fixed it i just got an upto date emultor so it works but when i try and move my keybad/joystick they dont move properly it moves in the wrong direction and sometimes doesnt move at all the only thing that works is when i press right on the joystick

Check the meulator version from Misc --> About. You should be using 1.42 at the very least.
