Don't mention that useless tool.. NSRT is the way to go.momotaro wrote:Please, tell me the name of the rom in GoodSnes format.
It's not too surprising that the improved core will fix so many things... though sadly I'm not a Star Fox fan.

--------------------------Database--------------------------

Genre 1: Shooter Genre 2: Back View
And the version in GoodSNES that you want is Star Fox 2 (Beta TD).smc or Star Fox 2 (Beta TD) (J) [o1].smc
They're the same, the other one's just an overdump.
(BETA TD).smc has no checksum and I think it's undersized, but NSRT can fix that. It can fix the [o1] too as well.
Both versions are untranslated/unpatched, you can get the patches from http://agtp.romhack.net/

You mean the one known as Beta TD is an underdump.
May 9 2007 - NSRT 3.4, now with lots of hashing and even more accurate information! Go download it.

If I recall, TD (The Dumper) padded 00 bytes to make the file have a normal size. Because it was never actually dumped (there was never a physical cartridge or ROM chip to be dumped), there is no "underdump" or "overdump".Firon wrote:Yeah, it's an underdump I believe... My memory might be faulty.
GoodSNES considers the proper sized 1MB one an "overdump." Either of them work, just have to fix them with NSRT.
There's another beta floating around, but it's a lot less complete than this one.
Interpret that however you wish.
This is still getting some work, I am working on cycle timing for SuperFX which is proving to be harder than expected without building some kind of rig for a SuperFX cart. But I am making some progress. The issue right now is finding out how long the SFX IRQ takes in relation to the master SNES clock.
