Auto IPS patch (linux)

Post by Echoecho »

Can't get it to work no matter what. Dummy checkbox or does it actually work?

Followed, not working. Manual fails this round.

rtfm

tfmsa

Could someone mention how to do this? 'man zsnes' sucks and so does everything else in the docs. Oh there's none in the packages I have. Let me google it, well this site came up.

But seriously.

Remove/Add a header from either your patch or the ROM
<Nach> so why don't the two of you get your own room and leave us alone with this stupidity of yours?

nuh uh. I don't think I've explained my problem correctly. The ROMs I know are correct for the patch. When manually patching them, they are as they should be, and everything. When checking the box in zsnes to auto patch, then running the unpatched same ROM, with the sav directories set and the ips patch in there, nothing changes. The ROM is still loaded as the original. Is there a secret config line to set the ips directory, or something?

abcdefg.smc/abcdefg.zip

abcdefg.ips

Capitalization the same. This works in windows.

The patch goes in the ROM directory.

I always thought the IPS goes into the save directory, has this been changed or am I recalling incorrectly?

Nach's tidbit applies to SDL IIRC. Windows/DOS port expects them in the Save Directory.

This is unified in SVN, but older versions are dos/win in SaveDir, sdl in ROMDir.

Update or cope with it.

Ah... that was what thew me off. Nothing but snes emulation in windows since the beginning. I'm currently installing the svn, the saves dir makes more sense to me. But anyways, I just wanted to say thanks for the replies.

In SVN, it first checks save directory and if that's not found, it then checks ROM directory. Works the same across all platforms.
