DUDES Please help (PTO II)

Post by herodotos »

My friend and I have been able to connect to the chat dialogue box, but when we try to load a game (4 different ROMS tried) the screen goes black with the game info on the bottom and even waiting 15 minutes doesn't move from there. The only time we ever got a game to run was to turn saves to none and for one of us to not start with a controller selected and the host to select 2 controllers. ARGH! All we want is to be able to play argh. Man, if anyone can help, please help. if we could connect once with funky settings, why can't we connect with the regular, 1 controller per person? Man, argh, mcargh, double argh

Ports forward? Firewalls disabled? Rom info? What games?

Call me crazy, but I think your software firewalls maybe the problem...

When people say "turned off firewalls," that doesn't always work because the firewalls' programs are still running in the background.

To truly disable a firewall, you would have to close the programs running in Task Manager, but that depends on your software firewalls.

Did you also make sure that the Windows firewall is completely turned off? This firewall is not very helpful anyway....

What particular software firewalls are you both using? Did you add "Zsnes" to their respective exceptions lists or opened UDP port 7845 in both firewalls?

That might be a better idea than disabling the firewalls...
