Can someone give me an example on how to fix the File Not Found At Remote. We've tried everything. We have the same filenames. We have the same Roms. We have it located in the same places on our computers. What else can I do?

There is a pretty good chance that the current rom directory is not where the rom is. Edit the cfg file with a text editor such as notepad to put in the correct directory. Alternatively, you could both load Secret of Mana once so that ZSNES will store the current rom directory in the cfg file.

You are missing the point. The point of loading the games individually is to set the correct directory required for ZSNES to know where to look for the file. (Note: You probably want to quit ZSNES after doing this step so it will save the changes.)Son Kevin wrote:Once the game is up and running, say Secret of Mana. How do we know we are connected and such?
Then, you want to attempt netplay afterwards.
When you are connected to each other successfully, IIRC, there is a chat session where you can communicate with each other. That is how you know you are connected. Once one side loads the file, you are playing the game at the same time unless you are having file loading issues such as "File Not Found On Remote" and/or "Bad Rom Mismatch" or something like that.

What version of Zsnes? 1.36, 1.42 or something different?
I had a problem like yours where one of my games in 1.36 wouldn't load at netplay start up, but once I had created a save state for it, it worked again.

1) Once you've set your rom and save directories in zsnesw.cfg (open that file in notepad), right click on zsnesw.cfg, go to properties, and set it to read only so Zsnes won't keep changing it during netplay.
2) Also, did you make sure the file name for both of your copies of Secret of Mana are completely lower-case??
3) Don't forget to have a save state on your end of the game in Zsnes 1.36, otherwise it'll hang at netplay start up. 1.42 doesn't seem to care, at least from my experience...
Good luck!
