Final Fantasy 12

Post by casualsax3 »

Is fucking fantastic. If you liked Vagrant Story, you will like this game. The score sounds like it's Vagrant Story 2, the animation and character models are like an upgraded version, the voice acting is great, the script is superb - the battle system is so much fun... the actitechture and overall design is very atmospheric, and the tone of the game is much more mature than previous FF's. I could go on but I'd rather get back to playing.

Let's see... Famitsu and EuroGamer gave this game a perfect score. I can't see how this game could fail. They say that Final Fantasy XII did the series the same as Resident Evil 4 did to the RE series; basically broke the mold the older games got stuck in and completely revamped the gameplay mechanics.

Great, once again PAL gamers have to wait. Oh well. Could be worse.

This is one of those games that got separated opinions. I like the game because it balances the difficulty well because you can't use a weapon right after you found it or buy it. The monsters don't drop Gil but their remains who
can be sold and that add more reality. the world is so huge that it seems that SE used Procedural Synthesis to fit it on 1 DVD. To bad that these new things that I enjoy irritates other players. I have the Collector's edition and I hope that the tin don't get rusty...(My only concern.) The only thing that I complain about is that i think that they mistranslated Altima with Ultima.

I agree, this game f*cking rocks and rocks hard. If you haven't got to play, go get this now...I COMMAND YOU!

I love the bounty hunting for monsters...Brilliant. The battle system is starting to get a little tedious with steal, steal, get item, attack attack. But a nice refreshing upgrade none the less.

I've logged about 44 hours on the game so far, and I have to say that it's fucking awesome. I have only a few complaints. 1. Characters can be too similar, I wish they would go back to enforcing strict classes. Because of that, every character is an attacker who occasionally casts magik. 2. There's no way to see how equipment affects attributes before you buy it (which can be annoying as hell).

I think that's it though, other than that, the game is fucking awesome. I've heard that the story is a bit lacking though, and so far it hasn't been anything too terrific, but whatever, gameplay is amazing.

Most people are pissed off because of the white smiley's on top of the NPCs and blue dots on a map end. RPGamer is full of them.

Sadly enough, even though I've played and finished most of the other final fantasies I haven't bothered to pick up Final Fantasy 12 yet. I forked over my cash to Children of Mana instead.

haha. I downloaded both games. And Elite Beat Agents and Yoshis Island DS. piracy

The only games that I can see myself buying in the next few months are FF12, Kingsom Hearts II and Okami.

That's the EASY way to get the Zodiac Spear. You can still get it from a different chest... just with a horrible rate of chance.

Wait, I thought I read that it was possible to steal it later, but I haven't looked into it because I'm kind of avoiding reading too many spoilers for a game I may or may not buy in the near future.

You must be thinking of something else.

Basically, the Zodiac Spear can appear in a chest in Henne Mines. That chest has a 10% chance of appearing.

That chest has random loot. There is a 10% chance it will be a weapon.

If it's a weapon, there is a 10% chance it will be the Zodiac Spear.

Happy reloading if you don't go for the guaranteed Spear!

Oops, silly me, I was just going by spoiler tagged text in a topic somewhere else. I think I'll avoid all other spoilers now until I actually have the game, and maybe until I finish it so I can find out how much shit I found compared to how much shit I missed later. Or maybe I'll just skip that step completely and save finding random crap until replays.

Okay the game SO far is pretty nice, now that there are gambits in the game you don't always have to pick what your characters will do in battle which is.....different. It seems like the game is more about restoring Dalmasca's honor than it is trying the empire from doing devilish things. The battle system works well and there are alot of spells you can choose your character to get licensed for as well as to buy in certain areas. There's a diverse aray of weapons and armor for you to get licensed for and equip. I love to use Balthiers Oaken Pole which is pretty powerful so far and Vaan's Spears, as well as Ashe, Fran and Balthier learning Cura and Raise. The use of Mists as well makes a nice touch to the fighting.

Just got a chance to play this game, and it kicks ass. :D

But be careful though, you can get your ass handed to you pretty badly at the start.
