Anyone use the DS-X?

Post by SquareHead »

The other day was watching a vidcast, and someone was showing some cool homebrew utilities running on a copier for the ds called the DS-X or the DS Xtreme? Anyone heard of this? I have checked their site and they claim no flashing of the DS is necessary, as well as no GBA flash cart or passme adapter.

Does anyone have any experience with these? Are they as good as they claim to be?

Hurr, the domain is registered with a fake sounding address in China.
Registrant:
Kevin Carter
Yu Stin Ki Pu 56
China, China 726300
China
That's almost as reliable sounding as if they had simply used a proxy registrant.

Although it sounds as if some people somewhere may actually have some pieces of hardware to speak of, since gbatemp.net is reporting a firmware update for someone out there. So I guess it could be their attempt at humor.

Exposed USB connector seems a little tacky to me, though.

From what I've heard , it works well , I'm thinking about getting one

I have a SuperCardSD , and it does well on DS but not so well on GBA , and it's alright if you don't mind some games not working until they update the software , or if there's a workaround in teh conversion settings , sometimes a patch is made till software is updated

But it is safer to have FlashMe on the DS since it has recovery , protecting from brick homebrew , better safe than sorry imo

damn it's only $120. 4gbit, I've spent $200 a piece for 256 and 512 mbit gba flash cards back in the day. I gotta get me one of these!
