Donkey Kong Country II problem

Post by McGee »

Hey everyone,
I'm playing DKC2 at the moment. Using ZSNES 1.42, I find that I can't break an animal crate simply by jumping/cartwheeling/throwing partner into it. I have to hit it with a barrel or chest. When I first started playing I thought to myself: "I don't remember having to do this before." But, it was never a problem, as I could always find a barrel or chest to use. But now I'm stuck on Level 10: Squawk's (Whatever).

As far as I know I'm using the (U)[!] release. Anyone know what's up?

Use NSRT to post the game's output please.

IIRC, there are two versions of DKC2. Since OpenBus has not been implemented, you probably want to try the other version of DKC2 (it should be more or less identical).

What is OpenBus?

It is needed for sure in some games, particularly Equinox. Since it is missing, it makes Mega Man X version 1.0 nearly unplayable.

ROM wasn't found in the database (possible bad dump).
You can try using -fix or -findover to see if the

Looks like it was a bad dump or something. Hrm. It worked fine the last time I played, too. Maybe it got corrupted somehow?

Try and use NSRT to fix it... if that does not work, go find another copy (we won't help you find it). Alternatively.. you could try to remove the header and add it back in... but I doubt that would truly fix it.

I had the same problem too, but it was the rom that was at fault.
