Metal Warriors (J) for SNES ?

Post by kick »

Metal Warriors JP (SNES)

Does anyone know if this game was ever released in Japan?
I wonder if this one really *is* a part of the Assault Suits series.

I take the Wikipedia article with a grain of salt.It may be correct, but I need some confirmation :)

Assault Suits Valken - Cybernator
Front Mission Gun Hazard
Metal Warriors

The same team worked on them but these 3 games are unrelated.

Then who the f*** is this Syffer Gydan guy (on GameFAQs) saying that Metal Warriors = Assault Suits Gideon (a part of the Assault Suits series) ?

Never heard of Assault Suits Gideon before.Did he mean Gaiden?

He's wrong. I quote 1up:

From Dean Sharpe, the co-designer and programmer of the game:

"Mike Ebert and myself made it from scratch after finishing Zombies Ate My Neighbors.
So no, it was not a spin off of anything. As far as the idea, we just wanted to work on something head to head with a more serious note after doing Zombies Ate My Neighbors. The only other part of the story was that Nintendo was originally going to publish it. We even did about 3 months worth of changes by their request. Then at the last minute they decided that it was too much like Cybernator and the deal got nixed. It was then we went back to Konami whom had also published Zombies Ate My Neighbors. The only other name it ever went by was Battle Droids.

Its funny that you emailed me about this since I'm currently working on a GBA version of that game. It won't be called Metal Warriors however. "

Nice find,Metatron. It cleared up my doubts about Metal Warriors. What's even more interesting is there's a GBA version as well :)

Now I just need to find that English translation patch for Assault Suits Leynos for the MegaDrive (if such a thing exists)

Leynos was released in America as "Target: Earth."

One of the hardest games ever made.

Target Earth's story was heavily censored and cut during the translation, even more than the Assault Suits Valken one. That's why I'm looking for a fan- translated one

And speaking of HARD games, try Jim Power for the SNES.
One of the hardest games ever made. The later levels are a nightmare, especially the shooter levels.

Probably because he's an idiot. GameFAQs isn't exactly known for attracting the cream of the crop.

X-Zone on hardest difficulty, THAT'S a hard game, no emulation cheating crap either.

FYI it's a super scope game.

You guys are aware of Assault Suits Leynos II for Sega Saturn right?

also Assault Suits Valken II for PlayStation.
