Is it possible to have two players one a single keyboard?

Gamepad acting up? Keyboard not responding properly? Can't get that other user to work? Read and post about it here.

If so, how. And if not, what is the simplest way to have two players on one computer.

Of course you can, but it is unrealistic since you will most certainly hit the keyboard limitation of hitting 3-keys at the same time.

Using gamepads can alleviate this problem.

I think it's a limitation with the keyboard controller, not so much the interface.

Ah, so, would you be able to say, patch the keyboard controller's drivers? or firmware I suppose.... Wouldn't a keyboard controller be used only for ps2 keyboards, and not usb... ? *confusion/lack of knowledge on the subject*

I figured it out on my own and it worked fine with Kirby's Avalanche and Mario Kart. Thanks for the help.

Well, all I know is that a USB keyboard doesn't have a three key press limitation.
Try out CCleaner and other free software at Piriform

Yes, I've tested and found that it doesn't have said key limitations. Those limitations are probably posed by the motherboard/keyboard controller as firon suggested. Though I'm pretty sure there is a proper term for it.

I know some Linux distros can bypass the limitations
<Nach> so why don't the two of you get your own room and leave us alone with this stupidity of yours?

If this is truth, then it would have something to do with the I/O stack. Fun.

Pfft. I can put 3 people on a old-school keyboard and still play Boomerman just fine, just got set the keys right. ^^

But, I have 3 USB controllers now, so no need for that crazy plan.
