I heard of it and I had to make sure it was real.

People are retarded. No, not the two guys, the Boston authorities. If you look up bomb in the dictionary you will see nothing to the effect of "signboard giving you the finger".

God I fucking hate how all the public media are making absolutely no attempt whatsoever to even suggest that anybody else but the people who placed the signs were responsible for the waste of money and time. I bet all those retarded fucking officials are just embarrassed out of their ass, fucking old demented faggots, seeing everything unfolding on TV being COMPLETELY FUCKING OBVIOUS that they fucked up yet reporters trying to make it sound as if it's not clear at all.
Fuckity fuck.
Fuckity fuck.

I don't see how this is funny. Whether the officials in Boston say stupid things is one thing, however in the post 9/11 era, the overreacting wouldn't be silly if it were a real threat.
The corporations are responsible for making sure that they inform every city involved with their plans. It is costing us half a million just to handle the fake threat. Every reported threat is treated seriously (especially now). I don't see how that's a good use of state money. If anything, Turner broadcasting should be paying up for this stupid fiasco. I could care less about the morons responsible for placing the stupid devices in PUBLIC AREAS. Although, they should be slapped silly for putting them up in the first place. It is a stupid publicity stunt gone horribly wrong.

I don't remember where I read this, but it's said that government officials were informed of the whole thing beforehand.
Regardless though, I disagree. The overreaction was absolutely ridiculous. I just cringed when I saw how they blew up the one led sign with the cartoon character on it using some sort of elaborate contraption. It was horribly funny yet all I could do was cringe and feel embarrassed for them.

Please cite source. Last time I watched the news, they had no idea. I do think they could have at least researched what was going on, since this was plastered all over the Internet.blackmyst wrote:Deathlike2 wrote:I don't see how this is funny. Politicians+overreacting is common. Not much that can be done there.Regardless though, I disagree. The overreaction was absolutely ridiculous. Probably not. On the other hand, if terrorists had creativity, I dare say something as silly as that wouldn't have crossed their minds.badinsults wrote:If I were a terrorist, would I make a bomb with flashy lights in an easy to see area?

just because it features a character from a childish cartoon, doesn't make it safe. wtf were these things doing hanging under a bridge? are you telling me you guys are so fucking ignorant, that you'll be driving down the road, see some weird light up thing with a cartoon character on it, then a big smile comes across your face and you go on the rest of your day knowing everything is okay? if I saw something like that under a bridge, I don't care if it had bugs bunny on it, it would rub me the wrong way. you can hang one of those in your bedroom, but when you advertise in public, you need to tell people what you're selling and where to get it. these things made no mention of a movie, or title of the show. just a cartoon character. that's not advertising, and nobody advertises unidentified cartoon characters on a small electrical object under an overpass.
you guys think it's a joke because the stories said they're just led signs. had you seen this story before they found out, you'd be worried to.

Ehh, you assume wrong. I'm not that paranoid. I guess the voices haven't yet gotten into my head yelling to me about how the terrorists are coming for me and my dog? Ignorance is bliss then?phOnYmIkE wrote:you guys think it's a joke because the stories said they're just led signs. had you seen this story before they found out, you'd be worried to.
And why was Boston the only place where they made any fuss about it? To top it off, one news report said that one of the signs had been there for two weeks before anyone even noticed.
I found this mildly amusing: http://youtube.com/watch?v=4G-D0F4Q9yk

I should start doing that. The problem is that most of the news posted in CNN and other newspapers in english are WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY off, and ElTiempo which is, I believe, the most widespread newspaper here still doesnt' have it's new in english.Joe Camacho wrote:I wonder, when will Corronchilejano post links about Colombian News?
But I could do it definetly.
EDIT: Although I could definetly post some things about our internal war, if that's what you would like.

The 'voices in head' gimmick is more of a schizo thing, actually. Paranoids wouldn't trust any voice in their head. :pblackmyst wrote:Ehh, you assume wrong. I'm not that paranoid.
