Is it possible to load and run PSX-based ZN games with ePSXe,to get enhanced graphics and more accurate sound than currently possible with MAME (and ZiNc)?
ZiNc is not an option, because the sound distorts badly (although the graphics can be enhanced with Pete's plugins). It's a shame EternalSPU doesn't work with ZiNc,even with Pete's AmaZinc frontend.
Tried MAMEPlusPlus which has an option to load ePSXe plugins.
Eternal SPU works here, but the only graphics plugin that works with it is Pete's Soft GPU,which doesn't enhance the graphics at all.(you just get a very nice speed boost over the MAME driver)
MAME32PlusPlus claims to support the ZiNc d3d_renderer.znc plugin, but it doesn't work.I used the one from the pack that's available at the ZiNc homepage (v1.2 for Windows).Do I need a different one/a newer build that works with this emu? Has anyone got this working with MAME++?
I tried Pete's OGL2 plugin 2.8 and renamed it to d3d_renderer.znc,but it doesn't work properly (freezes MAME).

ZiNc's default sound plugin sounds OK,but the output is too loud (internally),so I get heavy distortion (especially noticable when listening through headphones).Turning down the volume on the soundcard to the very minimum doesn't help with the distortion. It only reduces the volume.I've never had any problems with ZiNc's sound output when runing ZN-1/2-based games.
FYI,the 'Highly Experimental' Winamp sound plugin has an option specifically to get rid of this issue.
I don't have this problem with the standard MAME output or Eternal SPU.The level is just about right,as with most emulators.
ZiNc has the loudest sound output of any emulator out there.
Unfortunately this plugin doesn't help at all
The volume setting doesn't work.Same for the sound recording window - I can't even log the wave output to see what's wrong
Just try sfex2pj ,go to the sound test and play 'Sound Code 0005'
Compare the sound of MAME and that of ZiNc.
There's terrible distortion in ZiNc and the output is extremely loud.
(although ZiNc sounds truer to the real hardware than MAME)
