I lost the Atma Weapon

Post by HunterKiller_ »

So I'm playing FF6 again because I didn't finish it the first time.

Just up to the Floating Continent part and then realized with horror that I forgot the Atma Weapon... :(

Is there anyway I can get it now? Without restarting the game or waiting till the end?

Thanks.

Unless you are playing FF6A, you are SOL. As soon as the Floating Continent has risen, the Cave to the Esper World is gone.

Besides, take a page outta Locke's book. Be a treasure hunter! :P

I'm sorry, what is FF6A, or 'SOL'?

FF6A = GBA port of FF6

SOL = Shit Outta Luck (in other words, you are screwed)

The Atma Weapon isn't something that is going to make or break your party. I wouldn't worry too much.
<pagefault> i'd break up with my wife if she said FF8 was awesome

Well, no... But... It's... so cool... *drool*
I dunno, I'm just one of those people ya know...
Besides, if I start again I can get some other nifty items I missed earlier.

Apparently, the Genji Glove can be obtained way early in the game.

*Spoiler Warning*

When Banon asks Terra to help them at the Returners hideout, you answer 'No' three times, then somebody inside the cave will give you a Genji Glove.

EDIT: Ok, you're right. My goal in playing FF6 again was so that I could finish it. Play on!

Been there, done that. I prefer to say "No" one time and just acquire the Genji Glove then (by talking to one of the soldiers who gives it to you anyways).

Besides, Drainer+Atmaweapon = overpowered.

I'm playing FF6 right now, on an emulator. I was first playing the fan-translation by Sky Render, but there were problems (either with the translated ROM, or ZSNES; probably the earlier), but I messed up the Save Ram when I was in the Magiteck Factory, right before fighting, uh, those two Espers... the fire and the ice one. Shiva and something. >_> I tried to buy the GBA version to play on a trip, but it wasn't in any stores around my house. :/ So, I restarted, this time I'm playing the official US SNES version.

Hehe! You forgot to change the font to size 1. I'm also one of those person who have to do everything and get everything on each single RPG.

Getting everything is all well in good, but not really my style. In final fantasy games I usually play for what i "need" in order to tackle on the final bosses. When I came across Emerald Weapon i said "screw it", Ozma on the other hand, also I tried beating it; couldn't do it and finished right there. Sometime in the future I'll try going at Ozma again. Egoist's Armlet, Dark Gear and (some other type of ring) didn't seem to do the trick against Ozma's doomday attack. Also bad status inducing chemicals on my character derailed my chances of beating him also.

The Exaclibur 2 requirement in FF9 is 'fucking ludicrous'.

It's not even worth it as the "Shock" does quad 9 to every enemy anyways.

Don't even know of anyone who's done it without cheating.

Treasure hunter S rank and the truth of 4 armed Jack was good enough for me. Which I have forgotten the name already.

If they do a FF6 remake in the same way they are doing a FF1 and FF2 remakes on PSP, it will be awesome.

What do you want? That all those games takes the same treatment as FFIII for DS? It will be the most awesome thing ever to exist.

As for final fantasy 6, I'm not interested in the remake because I already have the anthology port on the playstation and have already played it twice. Once where I got stuck and couldn't find Locke, and a second time where I actually got everyone to prepare myself for Kefka's tower. I don't see why. The gba port is so over rated. You play it once, it's great. You play it twice, it's good. You play it over for a 3rd time, it gets tedious really quick. No matter how hard the game is. Final Fantasy 3 or 6 easy type on the playstation or hard on the japanese port, either way it all comes down to the same game

Um, ok?

The difficulty is really the same on all revisions to my knowledge (I can't speak for the PSX port, but FF6A seems on par on difficulty IMO). The casual player will think it is hard, but the hardcore players know the minor details and know how to abuse many details of the current gameplay mechanics.

For a thought, FF4A (and certainly FF1A) have gameplay mechanic changes.

Ummmm... there's no such thing as FF6 easy type.
You're thinking of 4.

I dunno, I've seen some people post final fantasy 6 hard type in their games sometimes.

There are hacks for the game that make it a "hardtype", but there is no official hardtype that exists for FF3/FF6.

I've seen people post Pong for the Atari, too.
That doesn't mean it exists, just that they're idiots.
