I don't know who makes the game, but some games intentionally do not support "unknown 3rd party controllers" because the company "didn't get paid to support your hardware"... happens with EA and perhaps other companies.

The dude registered just to ask this? Wow. This is so ZSNES.

I really wouldn't be too surprised when lesser-known (or unknown in this case) third party controllers refuse to work with games.

Deer Hunter 2005 was created by Southlogic Studios and released by Atari. Southlogic has made such ground-breaking PC titles as "Trophy Hunter 2003", "Deer Hunter 2004", and "Deer Hunter 2005". Southlogic is one of those game developers that practically no one has heard of, unless you happen to be a hardcore hunting simulation fan.

The above info was sponsored by GameFAQs.
whicker: franpa is grammatically correct, and he still gets ripped on?
sweener2001: Grammatically correct this one time? sure. every other time? no. does that give him a right? not really.

Indeed.

I wouldn't be surprised either... back in '96.
At this point, there's simply no excuse for selective support of gamepads and joysticks.

If you want to know what I think happened...
My bet is on Deer Hunter 2k5 not supporting joysticks or gamepads at all, and he just doesn't understand the concept.

Tell that to EA.

My biased opinion is that said control sucks. I wasted money on a couple of those.

There isn't an excuse, except you are specifically paid to support 3rd party hardware (or worse case, paid not to support other 3rd party hardware).

The rudeness, if any, is relatively weak here. There are so many others that have so much hate, this thread is silly by comparison.

you haven't really seen anything yet.

it's surprising that you haven't been raped about this. i mean, you're registering on a super nintendo emulation board about deer hunter 2005, of all things? that just sounds like it's asking for it. as far as your problem goes, you'd be better off with the mouse and keyboard with that game anyway.

however, if you insist on a gamepad, get a decent one. the 360 wired controller is probably the best controller you'll find for the pc today.

There's simply no excuse for much of what EA does.

The only time I ever see this game purchased is by a clueless relative. Usually in the big giant rush before Christmas. Its the only time I see those titles as well as the other $5 and $10 titles move around here.
