I may be relatively new, but I'm going to go ahead and drop out for now. I mainly dropped in to report a technical issue I was having, anyway. That, and I don't have a lot of time at the moment, so I can't really pop in for casual chit-chat. Well, good luck with your projects. I hope I was of some h...

It's even worse now, that new Terms of Service or EULAs are stating that you don't even own the disc, rather that you have the right to *use* the media, making the sole non-profit copy of media a copyright infringment. Meh. I wouldn't worry too much about quirky license agreements. Sony tries to st...

If it's any consolation, I have the same issues with the unpatched version. I hear the problems also persist in other emulators , so it's likely limited to the game itself. No. http://nsrt.edgeemu.com/images/franpa-alert/franpa-code-orange.png to the max. Snes9x (for some reason) emulates the game ...

Yes. But the ZSNES team focuses on correctness instead of playability, and previous releases are mostly less hardware accurate. Some day in the future ZSNES will emulate the effect correctly; until then you'll have to use the version that gives the best results for you. Naturally, but I brought thi...

and by the way, in the letter i got from the RIAA, one paragraph tells me i have 40 days to settle , and the last part tells me i only have 20 days to settle before they sue me. is this inconsistency a mistake on their part, or am i missing something here? Exactly. Like I said above, they're just g...

I must note that Legend of Zelda 3 (A Link to the Past) is, essentially, the best game made for the SNES. And, nearly, the best game ever made. But most assuredly for the SNES... Unfortunately, I passed this one up in my youth. I got the GBA port when it was released, but didn't think much of it at...

Kirby 3 uses some undocumented hardware effect, similar to the green water in DKC2. That was another theory I had, because it was one of the last games to be developed for the system. But again, everything functions perfectly on 1.42. Have you personally compared the emulation to the hardware? How ...

RIAA lawsuits are founded on intimidation, which is why they're mostly settled out of court -- RIAA intimidates Joe Fileshare, and he agrees to pay a one-time fee to avoid any further problems. Now, if they actually tried to bring these frivelous disputes into court, they would be laughed at. Person...

It's definitely not a memory issue. I'm not sure how you would come upon that conclusion. I'm thinking it has to do with the way 1.50+ handles transparency. When the ROM was tested in 1.42, everything functioned just fine. I also tested in another emulator (SNES9x 1.51) and it worked fine, as well....

SNES 9x is NOT a version of ZSNES, it is completely different. Yes, I'm aware: I just now played around with 9x v1.51, and it seems like a pretty good alternative to the official build . :P EDIT: Oh, nevermind. I see what you mean now. For some reason, I was thinking SNES9x was based on the zSNES s...

By the way, I want to note that, prior to my previous post, I was unaware of SNES9x. :P I just now played around with 9x v1.51, and it seems like a pretty good alternative to the official build. The GUI is much more native and easier to multi-task with. I'm sure someone has already mentioned it as a...

I don't have any nitpicks with the current GUI, but I admit that something to take better advantage of Windows' native API would be more convenient. Multi-tasking isn't too difficult, as the emulator of course has a minimize / maximize option, but having to go back and forth to the menu screen is so...

Star Ocean (J) [!] CRC32:6BA9E08D Patched with DeJap Translations v1.0 Works great with zSNES v1.42 (Windows) Works not-so-great with zSNES v1.50 and above :P I'm having the very same issues with the latest Windows build, myself. But using v1.42 oddly seems to resolve most of the problems. (except f...

UPDATE: Same problems persist in v1.50, but slightly worse. When toggling the graphics engine, there is a lot of flickering and slow-down. Also, I uploaded my v1.42 configuration file so you can have a look at it: http://www.sendspace.com/file/49itl8 The 1.50 - 1.51 configuration files were default ...

The only thing that comes to mind is that you might be using savestates generated by 1.42 and loading them with 1.51.. which is definately not recommended... which could be causing the freezing... I also suggest disabling/reenabling DDraw acceleration and see if that helps. As for the transparent w...
