Re: play games smooth as possible
As already mentioned ZSNES on Windows uses DirectDraw. You can refer to the stickied post at https://board.zsnes.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=64471 for more information. Any Windows version from Vista onwards emulates DirectDraw in what I assume to be software, resulting in a less than ideal e...

Suggestion: Enable HTTPS
I just noticed your hosting provider has installed HTTPS on the boards.zsnes.com site thanks to the cPanel AutoSSL plugin. To protect users' logins, I would suggest changing the board URLs from HTTP to HTTPS. I'm actually posting this via https://board.zsnes.com/phpBB3/ which is fully working, and t...

Just one more thing: Since you use Google Adsense, you need to comply with certain privacy policy requirements. These requirements are described at https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/1348695?hl=en

Re: Website hacked?
That Directrev ad causes popups on mobile; the ad just above the introduction appeared to offer illegal ROMs so the webmaster should investigate ASAP before Nintendo does.

Re: Website hacked?
It appears the text itself in the homepage has been manipulated - see the circled part in https://imgur.com/nFP2p4f To ensure it isn't a virus on my own computer I tried it on my phone too, and on my phone using Orweb (Tor browser for mobile) and it is still there. Here is the offending portion of t...

Re: Website hacked?
Maybe we have a rogue webmaster or the owner of that illegal casino site is lying. This is from the abuse reply I got: "Dear ______! Our customer reply is: "Hello, our links do have to zsnes.com site. The administrator of the site contacted us and asked for permission to publish those link...

Re: Website hacked?
That middle online casino one has to go; this website is hosted in the US and online casinos are illegal in the US. Because it is entered inline and not in an ad frame, that is what suggests that the site may have been hijacked. I traced the IP of that online casino to a foreign VPS provider called ...

In addition, the WHOIS e-mail addresses are bouncing. Please fix that ASAP too before zsnes.com gets shut down by ICANN.

Website hacked?
Is your website hacked? The zsnes.com homepage is advertising illegal casinos. Better clear that up before the Nintendo lawyers shut you down.

You never mentioned what operating system you are running. If you are running Windows Vista, you lose hardware-accelerated DirectDraw and thus can get a signigicant loss in framerate. If this is the case, try a lower resolution and/or disabling graphics filters. Really? I thought it was just Direct...

Here it is: ZSNESW with 512 pixel wide NTSC filter. Included in the ZIP file are a ZSNES exe with 512 pixel wide capability in the NTSC filter, and a modified winlink.cpp (based on SVN revision 3122) Edit: If you have downloaded this file already, please download it again. I fixed an off by 1 line i...

... and thus a known current limitation. That sounds like a challenge to me. I'll try feeding every other line fo the output of the D modes (reduced from 16 to 15 bit color) into the snes_ntsc_blit_hires function. It'll probably be painfully slow, but I just might get it to work somewhat. Just so y...

Feature Request: Hi-Res NTSC Filter - DONE!
What's preventing you from implementing hi-res for the NTSC filter? Is it just not a high priority, or are there technical issues with ZSNES and its graphics code that need to be worked out first?
Edit: I made aworking version with 512-pixel wide display (but no interlaced mode yet). See below.
