snes emulator as sharp as possible
I have zsnesw 142. How do I get the sharpest and smoothest display?
When using in video-options: sai, super eagle and super sai, the screen gets smooth, but not so sharp anymore. When using HQ3X, the display has very low resolution, but is sharp.
I tried a higher resolution, but that is the same display.
So how do I get a sharp and smooth display?

I'm not sure if you understand the HQx modes. The base resolution of an SNES image is 256x224 in most cases. When increasing the resolution, the screen must scale/stretch appropriately. HQ keeps most of what is there..it does its blending and keep the image sharp.

Think about what you're saying...okeee wrote: So how do I get a sharp and smooth display?
sharp and smooth are very close to being antonyms.
You can't add more data (information) with a graphics filter. You can omit, distort, extrapolate, or interpolate, however.

HQx is the best for sharpness. If you prefer smoothness (or just plan blur), interpolation is what you're asking for. 2xSai, SuperEagle, and Super2xsai are all blur filters as well but provides some sharpness though (generally not useful when using higher res).
