Text Removal

Post by gladwarez »

You all know what I'm talking about, the text that displays on the bottom of ZSNES at a ROM start-up telling you ROM information. Is there any way to get rid of this?

This is only available in SVN. Go to http://board.zsnes.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=7371 to read more on acquiring what you need.

Well, if you don't plan to figure it out, then wait for the next WIP. It's in there (you will have to search carefully).

Download and extract ZGet into a folder. Then run the application (zget.exe) and let it search for ZSNES MinGw, and if it isn't found (which is most likely the case), it will be automatically downloaded. Just answer the questions that pop up on the screen and you should be fine.

After ZSNES has been compiled it should be located in ZGet\zsnes\src\ZSNESW.EXE

Ok, I've figured it out, it's working fine. Now, how do I get rid of the text?

It's an advanced option in the CFG file.

Search the zsnesw.cfg file for what you are looking for... it should be obvious.

Awesome, I removed the text! A new problem has arised though :? It seems that setting keyboard controls is a problem in this version. I want to configure the controls through the .cfg, so I just need the key values for the letters "q", "w", and "d".

If you're not doing this from the GUI, you are doing yourself a disservice.

I've tried setting it through the GUI. For some reason every button refuses to set anything EXCEPT "Select". :?

There's a pretty good chance you haven't deleted the .dat+.cfg files to start fresh.

I thought this was a known bug in the current revisions of ZSNES?

Real Hotdog, that was for gamepads that are Player 2 or further.

As for this issue, it has cropped up recently.

You should now be able to set the individual keys in the GUI....

If you're using zget 4, and you know you don't have MinGW, just tell it to skip searching.
