At the end of the day, you basically don't want to pay for anything, do you?

I strongly disslike the idea to pay for something that can be reproduced for free and that doesn't have an individual production cost.funkyass wrote:No, you're too dumb to be paranoid.Oskar_Hanberg wrote:HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Maybe, just maybe, the end consumer is being affected because..
GET THIS!
Investors aren't recovering their money because.. People get their stuff for free????
So they have to jack up prices, secure their products and other measures.. To protect their investment?
BUT MAN, NO, IT IS THE EVIL CAPITALISTS AND THE PUPPET GOVERNMENT MAKING ME INFRINGE COPYRIGHT LAWS, INSTEAD OF ACTUALLY BUYING THE STUFF, SOMEONE SPENT THEIR TIME, EFFORT AND THEIR MONEY TO PRODUCE.

I forget which type of economics class you would learn that in, but that is the unfortunate result. It is the same reason why there is copy protection schemes in games (I don't have an issue with that, except for Starforce).Joe Camacho wrote:Maybe, just maybe, the end consumer is being affected because..

That argument fails miserably. If they would sell at reasonable prices, piracy wouldn't exist in the first place, the way it is now they turned it into an evil circle. but GET THIS:
THEY are the ones who wants their stuff sold, so its THEIR responsibility to provide products at a price people would find affordable, but they rather put potential costumers in jail or make their economy crash.

The argument doesn't fail. You fail it. This stuff isn't specific to piracy in general, but also shoplifting as well. As products gets stolen, overall prices in the store has to increase to make up for the loss. You may not agree with that, but that's actually what ends up happening. It is not a one-product thing.. it is a chain-effect.Oskar_Hanberg wrote:That argument fails miserably. You know, sane customers know to spend their money legitimately at better locations for the most cost/benefit ratio. You don't "sell stuff" to put people in jail or blow up the stock market. The system doesn't work as you have described.THEY are the ones who wants their stuff sold, so its THEIR responsibility to provide products at a price people would find affordable, but they rather put potential costumers in jail or make their economy crash.

Dude, if a product isn't bought, it must be because you introduced a product that isn't demanded/it's too expensive for the quality of the product.Oskar_Hanberg wrote:That argument fails miserably. But if you are willing to get it for free, and break the law to do it. Willing to risk getting a fine or a prison sentence, whatever..
Then I guess it's worth paying for it.
And that's something that doesn't depend on the investor. It's the right of the investor to protect his investment, without going against the law or the rights of other people.
What right are the people that get stuff for free, damaging the investments of other people is being affected?
What? ENJOY MUSIC? No, they aren't telling you what you can enjoy or not, they are telling you that if you want to enjoy the particular music they create, you must pay them. Easy as that.
And if you come out with your tinfoil-hat-conspiracy-capitalist-dicksuckingpolitics-bullshit, remember that.. INVESTORS, ARTISTS AND EVERYONE THAT DEPENDS ON THIS INDUSTRY ARE CITIZENS TOO. And their RIGHTS must be protected too.
Edit.- Seriously, I will save this thread and write my thesis for my Bachelor degree in Law, I will call it "LAW INTERPRETATION BY THE METALLY HANDICAPPED: FREE INFORMATION FLOW LOL."
