Metroid Prime 3

Post by grinvader »

Ohh boy did they improve over MP2's faults.

I'd write more but I'd spoil all the awesome and stuff. Which would make it less awesome and stuff.
Which is bad

... and stuff.

Get it. Right now.

no money = no play I guess, although there were free demos at EB Games/Gamestop for awhile, but that's assuming you go there....

Um, Europe maybe? Didn't it just come out there? I know grinvader is french.

Anyway yes, awesome game, beat it a few weeks ago. Was replaying it, but I stopped for Phantom Hourglass.

EDIT: Oops, messed up quote tags.

Yes, Metroid Prime 3 was released in PAL territories (excluding Australia, again) three days ago. That's two months after the US release, which is a surprisingly short time considering what kind of release bullshit Nintendo and the rest of the publishers usually practice when it comes to PAL games.
whicker: franpa is grammatically correct, and he still gets ripped on?
sweener2001: Grammatically correct this one time? sure. every other time? no. does that give him a right? not really.

I didn't love it, I think it's lost so much of the lonely and terrifying atmosphere that saturated every square inch of Super Metroid. Also, while the controls worked and were fun I found myself wishing for two analog sticks.
Also, not nearly as important, but it genuinely just doesn't look that great on a reasonably sized 36" HDTV.

it still doesn't top SM IMO but it's certainly a step back into the right direction for me. The more moves they incorperate from the old games the more authentic it feels but I'm not going to get into that whole debate.

I'm kinda embarrassed I didn't think of the whole other region thing, it wasn't long ago I was living in a PAL region near Australia and we didn't get things till later either. I did start importing US stuff before I left though and just using a transformer (the electrical variety, not the super machines)

No, I mean it's lame that you were using transformers instead of Transformers(TM)

that's true, it would have been way cooler if I had Transformers(TM) converting my 240 into 110. Optimus Prime has Poweeeeer.

there is no power change. if you step down the voltage, your maximum amps go higher, your watts stay the same.
<Nach> so why don't the two of you get your own room and leave us alone with this stupidity of yours?

Except Optimus Prime does have the poweeeeer.
So does Rodimus Prime, but we don't talk about him.

Gil, you missed my point.

I was talking about ELECTRICAL transformers not having a change in power.

I wasn't talking about the science of it. 110 and 240 are more names to me than numbers. Here let me paraphrase my meaning.

"it would have been cool having the machines from space convert my aussie power to american power, man are they cool."

But while using a transformer won't change the power, using a Transformer(tm) WILL change it, provided they are equipped with the Autobot Matrix of Leadership.

Besides, he never said anything about boosting power. Just that Prime had poweeeeeeer. :P
