Even though I already have 3 versions of this game, I'm still going to buy it. It's one of my favorite games.

true, but DS games seem to be getting bigger by the day, like always, the size of the "cart" expands by the lifecycle, I'm sure they'll be able to fit a good deal of voice, and from the sound of it the quality is pretty decent. I figure with them throwing FMV in their they can at least get sound right (one would hope) still, this makes me wonder if they'll crap up the voices in the US version, I'm not too worried as voice in FFXII and Kingdom Hearts etc. have been up to par. this is a handheld but I'm sure they still have standards, still, it'll lengthen the localization process.

Yeah, I was thinking of that, till this hit:snkcube wrote:Who knows. Maybe Nintendo should start using flash memory similar to SD cards I suppose.
what if someone was to blank the entire flash chip of the game? instant brick, and we all know how the PSP fared here people. :\
EDIT: Included snkcube's quote, as I didn't see there was a page three. :\
<Nach> so why don't the two of you get your own room and leave us alone with this stupidity of yours?

Can't wait...looks very good to me. I'm hoping the voice actors they pick do this game justice. Otherwise it's all eye candy with no substance.

I like how it tells you if you attacked an enemy with something it is weak to.
like when Rydia attacked that boss with fire it said "weakness"

So I am playing the JPN version... Looks great. I'm able to get through it based on my knowledge of the game. there is voice acting in cutscenes which look and sound fine to me. I have an issue with how Cecil walks and runs around, it is like he is floating over the ground rather than giving the impression of walking on a solid surface.
I am seeing moogles everywhere. In the tower where you sleep and talk to Rosa at the start, you must name a moogle at the bottom of the tower. I met him again atthe start of the first cave. I think he is for tutorials or something. there is a map on the bottom screen, whicvh is complete when in towns and castles, and even shows treasure chests. It is iccomplete on the world map, and is revealed as you walk around. In a dungeon, it is the same deal, but there is a % complete figure on the bottom right. I wonder if a prize is given like in Star Ocean III...
I am noticing that the frame rate suffers a tad while in battle, though this could be a flash card issue (though slowdown usually happens in curscene on flashcards...)
I'm gonna stop playing, I reckon. i can not wait for the translated version to come out. I have played many versions of this game and had a lot of fun each time.

You never played FF4j, or as some call it, Hard type right? It was NONSENSICAL. The ninja played barely any important part on the Moon most of the time.odditude wrote:FF4 was never a difficult game to begin with. The only thing that posed a challenge was inventory management, especially when you like bringing every type of arrow with you to exploit weaknesses.

Actually, I've played through every version of the game, and I still say that it's not very difficult. Easytype/FF2US is just pathetically easy.
One of the big breakers of the game is that Mt Ordeals gives extremely high amounts of experience for that part of the game, especially if you kill Tellah off (since he hardly gets any better with level anyway). The twins have absurdly powerful magic - Milon/Scarmiglione and Kainazzo/Caignazzo are potentially one-hit wonders. Add to that the fact that all future party members (except Edge) come in at your current party's approximate level...
As for Edge - he can equip claws. The elemental/class advantages are obscene - Edge with a decent sword and a Charm/Fairy Claw can devastate any Giant-class monster, and Edge with an Ice Claw is the destroyer of Red Dragons. Also, the Mute/Silence Knife allows him to one-hit most mage-type monsters.
