The only differences between all of those controllers are cosmetic, they're pretty much all the same inside. i.e. yes it'll work.
In fact I've never heard of any controller for any console ever that didn't work on the same console from a different region, but I might be wrong.

There is apparently a lockout that prevents NTSC controllers from working in some PAL snes systems, but not the other way. My PAL controller works fine with my Super Smartjoy, which I assume is similar to that device.
Also large picture is large. Please resize.

The Dreamcast's official J lightgun is locked out of US games.blackmyst wrote:The only differences between all of those controllers are cosmetic, they're pretty much all the same inside. i.e. yes it'll work.

The NES and TurboGrafX had different physical connectors from the FamiCom and PCEngine.
Sure, a dumb adapter that costs 15 cents to make would fix it, but it WAS a regional lockout.
Those are the only examples I can think of off-hand.

Oh of course, I forgot about the NES/Famicom, you can tell by just looking that those don't fit.Gil_Hamilton wrote:The Dreamcast's official J lightgun is locked out of US games.

Wow, the dreamcast gun thing was silly. So they didn't want bad press for releasing a gun peripheral in the US, but then had Mad Catz release one that was branded with Sega's own logos anyway?

Two or three 3rd-party guns, actually.blackmyst wrote:Oh of course, I forgot about the NES/Famicom, you can tell by just looking that those don't fit.Gil_Hamilton wrote:The Dreamcast's official J lightgun is locked out of US games.

How AssCatz got the official license, I'll never know.
I own that one. I figured it would be better than no gun at all.
It isn't.
