final fantasy 3 visual bug

Post by Mr Bojangles »

I'm playing Final Fantasy 3 (V1.0) (U) and sometimes in battles, I can't see the hand when it is pointing to Fight and only the bottom half of it is visible on the second command. It's as if there's a stripe that prevents me from seeing any sprites on that horizontal area. If I go into another menu, (eg: magic) I can't see the hand on the top row and only the bottom half on the second row. As far as I can tell, it only happens in battles, and seems to be inconsistent as it will be fine one battle, buggy the next, and then be fine on the third battle. Any ideas on what is going on or if I can fix it easily?

Can't tell you much, except that this is very known.

Oh (dejectedly)...

Is it really that hard to fix though?

To fix it, we have to implement RTO.
I don't think anyone plans to put RTO in ZSNES yet.
May 9 2007 - NSRT 3.4, now with lots of hashing and even more accurate information! Go download it.

Let me ask something:
What's RTO?
<Nach> so why don't the two of you get your own room and leave us alone with this stupidity of yours?

I don't have that battle menu issue, but there's another one that's quite apparent. It's been plaguing Zsnes when Zsnes WIPs where first being released. When moving on the world map, there's this stange flicker that seems to happen every other step I make. It's almost like garble. The ROM may be corrupted. I did add an IPS patch to it (it is an FF6 Retranslation patch).

There's no need for a dilemma. Crumble the cookie and use it as a garnish.
