FF3 Bug

Post by Deathlike2 »

Occurs in all 3 Good versions of the ROM (FF3 1.0, FF3 1.1, FF6 Jap version)

When in a battle.. and Warp (or Warp Stone) is used.. transparency is not applied to the menus. This does not occur with the Old Graphics Engine.

Occurs in 1.42 and 1/31 WIP.

Sure... give me a sec...
I'll edit this post when I've got one up.

Edit: Link - http://users.wpi.edu/~syip05/Images/ff3.zs1

This goes with FF3 (v1.1) but I suspect it will work with 1.0.

If you need the .srm, I'll be happy to provide you with it.

Haven't been able to work on it because my desktop's HD went pfft on me. So I am working off my notebook now, getting my compiler up and going.

I'm not in a rush to find out... I'd just like to know what he's done and updates the status when he knows what causes it and on his own time.

You sound like you're impatient, though. That tends to happen when you continually ask.
Everything I say is a lie.

Sorry to butt in with another bug but it relates to FF6.

I'm about 2 hours in and have found something that tends to get pretty annoying. In battle, the menu is supposed to be on top of everything else, but for some reason in Zsnes it isent, so if there is ever a story sequence where a character goes behind the menu, you see him on top of the menu and it looks terrible. Is this a known issue?

I have had the same Prob years ago. I think it was when Gau joined you. It was both in American version and in the german translation of the J version. (I'm not sure, but I think it was also in the PSX-Version I own)

There is no German translation of the Japanese version.
(I might be wrong, though, in which case I would like to know where the patch is available.)

Yes, this is a known issue. It relates to sprite layering, IIRC.

Is there a fix, or something I can do to fix it?

There is or better there was such a version, made by a guy named PhoenixDown several years ago, but it was never finished (I know it, 'cause I've played it)
