I have a Serial-ATA HDD and I've never seen anything like that.
whicker: franpa is grammatically correct, and he still gets ripped on?
sweener2001: Grammatically correct this one time? sure. every other time? no. does that give him a right? not really.

It looks like interference... either the hard drive or the graphics card (or a combination of both) that is causing it. It doesn't seem to be ZSNES at fault in this case.

I just changed my graphic card Radeon 9700 => Radeon 9800Xt, before and after i get same graphic coruption.

Funny bug :D it should be the HDD (Seagate ST-3250823AS, Barracuda 7200.8, 250 GB)

Are you using the latest drivers from ATi?
Try out CCleaner and other free software at Piriform

I don't think it is the drivers.... as I said.. it's interference... (the mobo/SATA cables could be of poor quality)

I remember having something like that before.. but it was the DOS version though... it wasn't as extreme like this though.

Are you overclocking? Do you have a mobo that overclocks by default? If you are overclocking, stop doing it and see if it helps.

Great.. it's a bug that is caused by overclocking...

If your overclocking causes problems and bugs.. it's a fault of your own.. not ZSNES.

I get this problem when browsing a directory wit a LOT of roms. I had a directory with the entire goodset and it did that. Also, sometimes the names in the load dialog box would become garbage on large directories.

EDIT: It doesn't look quite like interference because the menubar is fine.

Is there a correlation to having lots of ROMs? If you check the original poster's post history.. he supposedly has a lot of ROMs...

I can only think that a workaround would be having a certain number of ROMs in the directory... since given he said that it doesn't affect the PATA drives..

I think it was established a long time ago in some other thread that having a "whole fucking lot" of roms in a single directory isn't a good idea, and one can expect problems.

Still, it seems a bit far-fetched to me that having lots of roms in a single directory would cause display corruption like the in the screenshots. I could understand it if it corrupted the Load window.

In my experience, the corruption that occurs when you have a lot of ROM's in one directory only scrambles the file/directory lists on the Game>Load dialog. Even then, it only appears as mixed-up letters, numbers, and symbols, not static/graphic interference.

Well, I would get the same exact corruption as that when I had all the roms in one dir. Now they're all burned to separate DVDs and I only sometimes get some list corruption.

With 1 Rom in 1 Directory, No Graphic coruption

I moved my 9.xk Roms to my system disk (PATA) => graphic coruption !

Therefore no corelation between SATA and graphic coruption...

I don't understand why with my old HDD PATA i don't remenber graphic coruption...

Sorry for this useless Topic, it was surely the number of Roms.

It's OK... there are some trends that seem to be silly, but they rear their ugly heads when they do.

All we need now is another "bug that only exists because I have millions of ROMs".. and the cycle will be complete...
