Crash on loading Zelda 3 Savegames in last WIP (05.01.06)
So... when i'm saving a zelda state... there is no preview picture... furthermore ZSNES crashes on loading...
With the official release 1.42 everything works fine...
(I'm talking about the windows version...)

Are you saying it's not possible to hack a Static RAM file?
May 9 2007 - NSRT 3.4, now with lots of hashing and even more accurate information! Go download it.

I would guess it's easier to just press F2/F4 to save one step near the final boss on any game, then to hack a sram file.Nach wrote:Um... What?Clements wrote: - cannot be exploited to ruin difficulty

Perhaps, but if you want extra items, F2/F4 won't help you, where hacking an SRAM can.Joe Camacho wrote:I would guess it's easier to just press F2/F4 to save one step near the final boss on any game, then to hack a sram file.Nach wrote:Um... And once you've figured out how to hack one SRAM, hacking any other is a piece of cake.

- you can only save where/when developer intended (provided you are not directly hacking the game)
... so that everybody can be satisfied.

I'm having the same problem in Gokujou Parodius:
I don't remember when I last saved the state, but I know that I've been playing this game since late in the "1.36CVS" WIPs (this same problem occurred, then was fixed, and is now broken again). I'm pretty sure that I'm using the latest WIP, and IIRC I was able to successfully load the savestate a few WIPs ago (can't remember exactly when...that's the disadvantage of not actually being at home to do the posting).
Just to clarify, the "crash" is that ZSNES unexpectedly quits with no error message.
